When it comes to fasting, the intent is to deepen our relationship with God. The purpose is to abstain from things that may have a hold on your life - things that may take your focus off of Jesus and the life you should be living.

When He created this world, He gave us the dignity of choice and causation. He doesn’t control our choices. We aren’t some Sims avatar with someone controlling our every move or decision. We’re allowed to decide what we are going to do. Which also means sometimes things that happen are due to our own choices.

The way we view ourselves is directly connected to where we put importance in our lives and where we are seeking identity and validation.

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12 ESV The Lord has put prayer heavy on my heart these last few weeks. Everywhere I turn I hear people talking about how they keep praying but they don't seem to get a response. I have a lot of thoughts on this and I feel like He's given me a ton of insight
